As a winner of numerous national and international competitions, Robert Neumann (born 2001) was awarded with the International Classic Music Discovery Award 2017, "an exceptional gift", "one of the most promising piano talents".
In 2018 the Jury of the SWR (radio broadcasting corporation in Southwest Germany) chose Robert as the "SWR New Talent". He will be supported for the next three years (including concerts, festivals, broadcasting and media presence).
Robert also recently recieved the "Swiss Charity Award" and furthermore, was selected for the promotion program of the Mozart Society Dortmund.
The young pianist made his orchestral debut with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra when he was eight, and since then he has appeared with other orchestras, including the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, German State Philharmonic Ludwigshafen, the Stuttgart Philharmonic, the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra, the Praga Philharmonic Camerata and the Gewandhaus Orchestra.
He has collaborated with conductors like Francesco Angelico, Dan Ettinger and Stefan Sanderling.
Robert was a guest of the "Vladimir Spivacov Foundation" at the Festival "Moscow meets Friends" and at the Summer Music Festival of Bad Kissingen (Kissinger Sommer), the Franconian Music Days (Fränkische Musiktage), at the European Cultural Forum at Castle Mainau, the "Piano Festival of Young Masters", the Lucerne Festival, Interlaken Classics Bern and as "Artist in Residence" at the Festival "Next Generation".
In the meantime Robert has appeared in the Liederhalle Stuttgart, Tonhalle Zürich, the Bregenz Festival Hall, Salle Cortot Paris, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Victoria Concert Hall Singapore and the Moscow International Performing Arts Center.
The highlights of 2019 include debut performances at the Konzerthaus Dortmund and Herkulessaal Munich, Schleswig-Holstein and Mosel Festival.
In 2020 there will be guest concerts with the SWR Symphony Orchestra, as well as Heidelberger Frühling Festival and Konzerthaus Berlin. Robert plays with Daniel Müller-Schott at the Chamber Music Week in Schloss Elmau and with Julia Fischer and Kammerakademie Potsdam at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Music Festival.
He grew up in a multilingual family of musicians, and since the age of four Monika Giurgiuman taught him at the Stuttgart Music School. At the age of eleven Robert has been accepted as a junior student into the class of Prof. Elza Kolodin at the Freiburg Music Academy, 15-year-old Robert was already working on his B.A. of music. Further he was a scholarship holder at the International Music Academy Liechtenstein.
